The focus of the Emergency First Response program is on building the confidence of lay people who want to help in a medical emergency and increasing their willingness to actually take action and provide help during such an emergency. Students will learn easy-to-follow emergency care steps and practice applying the relevant skills in a learning environment that is as stress-free as possible. To encourage learning, there are various self-study materials for all courses - manuals (workbooks), videos (DVD) and "quick reference cards" (cards for quick reference); so you can start learning right away.
 The EFR courses meet the CPR and First Aid requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver course and all PADI Professional levels. Most PADI Instructors are also Emergency First Response Instructors.
